New Order Diaspora

Welcome to NOD, the New Order Diaspora. The diaspora of our times.
A log long time ago, there was the Out of Africa diaspora – which resulted in the proliferation of species, literally on a global scale. There was the Semitic or Judaic diaspora of Israelites on numerous occasions, on their journey to the Promised Land then and now. More recently, there was the Arab Spring and the rippling migration of the people of the southern and eastern Mediterranean and beyond, to the beckoning luxury and dreams-come-true of Europe and the First World. But NOD, the 21st century diaspora will prove to be the humdinger of them all.
Whereas in the early days of diaspora, Out of Africa and onwards, the trajectory generally headed for the Utopia of their age. In the new diaspora, we charge down the road stretching ahead, heading full throttle for Dystopia.
So what exactly is this new malevolent diaspora you may ask?
It has nothing to do with culture or creed or even religion, it has to do with lifestyle. A global man-made living standards diaspora.
The poor are already poor, but still they fall further. They become the malnourished and destitute, relentlessly swelling the ranks of the homeless. All over the city, homeless - even whole families - can be seen in the late afternoon, searching for and preparing a place to spend the night. Hopefully where they will not be robbed or hurt or abused by more desperate, more bitter …more wise to the ways of streets where hyenas hunt ...Or rounded up and corralled by the system.
And in turn, under the relentless assault of ever increasing prices with no end in sight, the working middle class cascades into the expanding vacuum created by the poor. Then slowly as opportunity and hope wanes, shame, embarrassment, and bitterness build. They become bitter, suspicious and negative, just like those they displaced. They know that their turn to fall will come. It is inevitable.
Meanwhile life is sure fine and dandy just across the railway tracks. At the opposite extreme of the ‘all’s fair' scale, the upper-upper middle classes and social elite actually make money off the suffering of the street scum. They get richer and further removed from both plight and sentiment on the ground. They have numbed themselves against the everyday turbulences of mere common man. While at the pinnacle, the one per cent holds humanity by the balls, and squeezes. The gap between stinking rich and ridiculously poor, widens and deepens by the hour. But instead of helping, the upper echelon turns away, almost as if repulsed by the obscenity of poverty. Some dilly-dally with donations, tours and empty words, wanting less to solve the problem than earn PR collateral on their crusade to ass-kiss the rich and famous while butt-fucking the planet.
It doesn’t take a whizz kid to realize the poor cannot cure poverty, the malnourished cannot feed the hungry. How does one at the bottom, feeling useless and a burden, possibly lead and guide a family when he cannot even feed them? It takes money, power and influence to bring about change, both good and bad.
But that’s no new news, I know. It has been so for the longest. So why the big deal, you may ask?
Because it is the first time since the days of European colonialism that mass migrations have been orchestrated globally with specific objectives of disrupting populations and destabilising countries in the name of hegemonic power and influence.
As the middle class (that's us) drops in status, so too do we lose our voice and influence. And facing the onslaught of the oligarchs globally (including here), to be quite blunt, for the vast majority of us, future prospects coud be brighter by a long shot. The manipulation of the rat race is only just beginning. And if the vast majority becomes insignificant because of lack of voice or firepower to make it heard, there is no tomorrow. Think about it, entire communities are migrating to poorer versions of themselves, simultaneously losing their voices and the firepower needed, to bear any semblance of influence over their own lives.
Life is not fair, neither is the law. And money and influence trump all. Do you not feel that your control over your own life is slipping away? We see daily that the top echelons get richer, big bonuses, big budgets, spending more money on a night out than a lot of houses spend to live for a month. And we know many get that money from corruption, whether it be at the top of the political pimple or further down the commercial line, still corruption - often in unexpected and uncomfortable places. We have developed a kickback, bucks under the counter, shady deal culture. A thriving society of kickback artistes.
But don’t we get it? This only drives money up the foodchain, not down. The director wants his mother to have a cool gravestone. From him all the way down to the stonecutter, everyone gets a slice - except the stonecutter; he just gets his fee.
So now the question: at what point, as we continue to fall off the bus along this bumpy road of reset, do we say, ‘Hell no! Pull up the horses a bit… can someone run all this shit past me one more time? But slowly - and look me in the eye, son. Pretend you still have backbone, and run it past me again, …slowly.’
Where we are headed, we will have zero control over whether there can ever be recovery or not. The way things look to me though, most don’t really give that much of a shit for the earth to even recovery; they just want to be on the team from the private school and medical aid side of the road. There will be casualties, of course. But hey, that’s life… as slowly we all
wait patiently for our turn, hoping like hell the sinking ship don't capsize.
