Club Walkaway

Good evening all and welcome! Welcome to Club Walkaway, the latest craze to hit humanity for many a squandered year! Roll up, roll up! Everyone is welcome, probably many of you are already (over) qualified – and even if you don’t know it yet, many of you are already playing the game… the wonderful new engagement sensation taking the world by storm: THE WALKAWAY!

So how does it work, you ask? Good question. I mean how would you know if you didn’t ask? I mean, how would you know if you just walked away? See what I mean huh… see…see? And that’s how you play, you simply turn on your tail and walk away.

Obviously like all games, there are a few basic rules, and then different rules for different situations. But all situations will be defined by the Trump of all, the Joker card you just might say: whenever in doubt, just walk away.

Just say you decide you want to join – and I know you will… everyone does - I would hate you to say, no one told you properly how to play the play of walk away. So how about a few examples, just to get in the swing of things…

Let’s say you’re online and you get scammed… what’s the play? Exactly! Walk away!

You’re looking at your bank account. Someone has scammed you from inside the bank, or through some leak, someone got your details and has emptied your account. They have stolen your identity, fucked with your bond, destroyed your credit rating, your house gets repossessed, your wife leaves you for being such a dipshit for leaving yourself open to the shit… So what’s the play? YESSSSS! You just walk away! The bigger the badder, no matter hey. No matter what the cause, (what do you do?) just Walkaway!

That’s it, now you’re really getting the hang of it!

So a long shot…the government is fucking up the country, stealing it blind, revolution and genocide just around the corner… What’s the play? THAT’S RIGHT, AS EASY AS THAT - JUST WALK AWAY!

Let’s try some trickier little scenarios… Your son is beaten into a coma by some bouncers at a night club, or by a gang. You know who they are - but do you go to the police or try do something about it? Hey hey hey? You know the play! Just stick your head in the sand and …walk away! (Look this one can be hard because while your son is trying to recover from a broken jaw and brain damage, you might find it difficult to look him in the eyes for a few days. But never fear, when he recovers as best he can, then teach him the play – to walk away. Anyway, with brain damage, maybe he doesn’t really know you played)

Your daughter gets raped and mother is murdered … What is the play? You got it: Just walk away! See how easy it is? The same move every time. You really can’t go wrong!

Is this what we have become? A walkaway society? No matter what the bad guys - and that includes the state, the police or any other body that hurts us - take from us, how they abuse us - we just turn and walk away?

Then why have laws at all? Why bother teaching our kids about honour and integrity? After all, trying to live up to the things that differentiate man from beast take effort. Anyway nowadays most want to run with the dogs, not stand with the men. Why fight it? Walking with your head high on your hind legs can be both difficult and lonely…

I have been ripped off and screwed in so many different ways, in business, in relationships, in life – and the best advice I seem to get from those I care about, those in the know, and those whose opinions I used to value…

“Do yourself a favour, just walk away. Leave it. You cannot win. Its gonna be too difficult and it will fuck you up.”

Me:      “But hey, I am right. That’s not fair. Why should I…”

“Just do yourself a favour, take my advice, walk away…”

And that’s it then? And this is how we intend to raise our children? It does not matter what’s wrong or right, what’s good or bad. Don’t fight or make ripples, just walk away.

Well folks, I wish you luck in your head-in-the-sand little world of acquiescence and capitulation. I wish you well in Club Walkaway. But I still believe in honour, integrity, justice and right and wrong. That there are things worth fighting for and there are things we should protect – even with our lives if necessary.

The world is not in a bad place; humanity is. And as long as Club Walkaway continues to grow from strength to strength in an increasingly gutless world, get used to things just getting worse and worse.

…But hey, don’t let it get to you, you could easily become a paid up lifetime member of Club Walkaway. So as it crumbles and falls around you, how you do play? Just walkaway…
